PROCEDURE FOR CLEANING OUT
YOUR HOLDING TANK BEFORE USING A MICROBIAL PRODUCT

Once you have used chemical products such as formaldehyde or bleach in your holding tank, you must clean out the chemicals before adding the microbial product like BacTANK T3. This will balance the pH in your tank, and give the bacteria a chemical-free environment. The bacteria in a safe, balanced environment can clean the lines, degrade the waste, and deoderize your holding tank.

To prepare your holding tank for a microbial product:

  1. Pump out the tank as much as possible.
  2. Pour clear water down the toilet so that it runs down into the holding tank, and pump the holding tank out again.
  3. Mix a solution of 1 gallon of water solution and 1/4 cup of baking soda.
  4. Stir the solution until all of the baking soda is dissolved.
  5. Pour the solution down the toilet and into the holding tank.
  6. Pump out the holding tank.
  7. Repeat steps 3 through 6 until the water runs clean when pumping out, and no odor remains in your cabin.
  8. Follow instructions to add BacTANK T3 or a similar microbial product to your holding tank.
